A Level Economics

Vision statement

Economics at The Swan School will give students an opportunity to explore theories and concepts which apply to the real world around them. The rich curriculum gives an insight into microeconomics, developing an understanding of individual markets, as well as macroeconomics, looking at the economies on a country by country basis. Students will be supported by teachers to analyse topical and relevant issues, such as behavioural economics, decision making, and government intervention in markets. This will give them the knowledge and skills needed to be able to fully evaluate the impact of any decisions on consumers, producers, and the government. The intention behind the curriculum is to inspire students to think critically about economic issues and to expand their understanding of the financial world.
