Sixth Form Tutor Programme
Tutor time is daily with Form Tutors for 40 minutes. Our tutorial programme is based on student feedback to develop and enrich academic subjects with the skills and understanding needed for life beyond our Sixth Form. Our tutor programme includes:
-
Year Group assemblies: An assembly led by the Head of Sixth Form, Deputy Head of Sixth Form or tutors on topics particular to the year group, such as advice for future pathways.
-
Careers Speakers: Sixth Form students will join together as a community to hear from a variety of guest speakers from our community from different industries and career paths.
-
Personal Development: Tutors engage in personal development topics with their tutor which are relevant to the age and stage of the Sixth Form community.
-
Supported Reading: Students engage in fiction and non fiction texts to support their love of reading and super curricular development.
-
Pathways Development: Students gain support on applications to careers, apprenticeships and universities including key skills like CV writing.
The Swan Leadership Programme (SLP)
Beyond your three A-levels, all Year 12 students participate in the SLP. This program is designed to build "cultural capital" and recognize your contributions to the community, extra-curricular activities, and leadership roles. Graduating from the SLP ensures you leave us with a competitive edge and the rich skills required for university progression.
Beyond the Classroom
We offer a holistic environment that balances rigorous academic study with personal growth.
| Feature | What to Expect |
| Extended Project (EPQ) | Gain a qualification worth half an A-level by researching a topic you love—often leading to reduced university offers. |
| Volunteering Elective | Spend the Year 12 summer term giving back to local primary schools, care homes, and charities. |
| Work Experience | A dedicated week in July to gain professional exposure, supported by our CV and cover letter workshops. |
