Performing Arts

As well as studying Music and Drama in the classroom, Swan School students have the opportunity to take part in a variety of extracurricular performing arts activities. Being involved in the performing arts at The Swan School offers students a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and interests they already have, discover or try out new ones, and mix with students of all ages from across the school.

For students interested in Drama, we offer our weekly Drama club as well as workshops (which are often run by external professionals). We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular musical activities. These include choir, orchestra and jazz band. We have practice spaces that are used for instrumental lessons, and students can book for their own practice for themselves or with their musical group. Students are encouraged to form their own bands, and teachers can help connect students depending on musical interests.

One of the highlights of the performing art’s calendar here at The Swan School is our annual whole-school production. This perfectly brings Drama and Music together as our on-stage performers are accompanied by our live school orchestra. The performing arts are an ever-growing and vibrant part of our school offering which we hope to see more and more students involved in.
