Key Highlights
Exceptional Attainment
With an Attainment 8 score of 55.3, our students achieve nearly 10 points higher than the national average. This score measures achievement across eight subjects, including English, Maths, and a range of sciences, languages, and humanities.
Mastery in Core Subjects
A remarkable 68.3% of our students achieved a Grade 5 or above (defined as a "strong pass") in both English and Mathematics. This is 23 percentage points higher than the national average for state schools, ensuring our leavers are exceptionally well-prepared for higher-level study.
Commitment to the EBacc
At The Swan, we believe in a broad and rigorous academic curriculum. This is reflected in our EBacc entry rate of 87.5%, which is more than double the national average. By excelling in the English Baccalaureate pillars—English, Maths, Sciences, Languages, and History or Geography—our students maintain a competitive edge for university admissions.
Celebrating Our Students
These grades are the culmination of five years of dedication. Despite starting their secondary journey amidst a global pandemic, our students have shown immense resilience. We are delighted that 40% of all exams were graded at the highest levels (7-9), providing an optimistic future for every individual in our care.
NOTE ON PROGRESS 8: DUE TO THE DISRUPTION CAUSED BY COVID-19, THERE IS NO KS2 BASELINE DATA AVAILABLE TO CALCULATE PROGRESS 8 SCORES FOR THE 2024/25 AND 2025/26 ACADEMIC YEARS. HOWEVER, OUR HIGH ATTAINMENT SCORES DEMONSTRATE THE SIGNIFICANT VALUE ADDED DURING OUR STUDENTS' TIME AT THE SWAN.
